Unique Account Number, allocated by EPFO, serves as a single id for multiple member ID that has been given to an individual by various establishments. Every

Employee Provident Fund (EPF) Scheme beneficiary is allocated a Universal Account Number (UAN). This 12 digit number permits an employee to connect all the PF accounts across different organisations and access them under one umbrella called as UAN Unified Member Portal. This unified portal comprises of KYC details, service record, UAN Card etc. The transfer and withdrawal of provident fund amount are made simple using EPF member e-Seva. In this article, you will find the steps to register UAN on the Unified portal.

UAN Login

Here are the steps to log in to the UAN Unified Portal.

Step 1: Login to the website - The user has to login to the official website.

Step 2: Click Our Services - The user has to click on the 'Our Services' option form on the UAN member home page. Step 2: UAN Portal Step 2: Uan Portal

Step 3: Click For Employees - After completing the action on the UAN member homepage, the user has to click 'For Employees' under our services.

Step 4: Select Member Passbook - The user has to then select 'Member Passbook'. Step 4: UAN Portal Step 4: Uan Portal Once logged in, the user can view the UAN card, profile and service history.

UAN Unified Member Portal Registration Procedure

The user has to login to the UAN Login Unified Portal. Here are the steps for the UAN Unified Member portal Login and register on Unified Member portal:

Step 1: Click on Activate UAN The user has to click on 'Activate UAN' from the 'Important Links' section. Step 1: UAN Portal Step 1: Uan Portal

Step 2: Enter the Details The user has to enter the details and then click on 'Get Authorization PIN'. A PIN will be sent to the registered mobile number that is registered with EPFO. Step 2: UAN Portal Step 2: Uan Portal

Step 3: Enter the PIN The user has to enter the PIN to activate the UAN account. A computerised password will be sent via SMS to the user.

Step 4: Change Password Once logged in, the user has to change the password. By this, the user activates the UAN and register on Unified member portal.

UAN Status

Here are the steps for checking the UAN Status in the EPF Portal.

Step 1: Unified Member Portal Login - The applicant has to log in to the EPF Portal.

Step 2: Click on Our Services The applicant has to click on the 'Our Services' option and click 'For Employees'.

Step 3: Click on UAN Online Service After clicking on UAN Online Service, the applicant has to click on UAN Online Service (OCS/ OTCP). Step 3: UAN Portal Step 3: Uan Portal

Step 5: Enter the Details The applicant has to enter details like the PF number or Member ID or PAN or Aadhar number, date of birth and mobile number. Step 5: UAN Portal Step 5: Uan Portal

Step 6: Click Get Authorization Pin The applicant has to click on the 'Get Authorization Pin' option. The authentication pin will be sent to the registered mobile number.

Step 7: Click Validate OTP and Get UAN After receiving the authorisation pin, the applicant has to click on 'Validate OTP and Get UAN'.

Step 8: Receiving UAN number The UAN number and its status will be sent via message to the registered number.

UAN Passbook

In order to view the passbook online, the members have to register on the

Unified Member Portal. After six hours of the registration, members can see the passbook online. Although, passbook facility is not provided for Exempted Establishments Members, Settles Members an Inoperative Members.

Procedure to Access Passbook Online

Step 1: Log in to the Portal The applicant has to log in to the EPF Unified Portal.

Step 2: Click on Our Services The applicant has to click on the 'Our Services' option and then click on 'For Employees'.

Step 3: Click on Member Passbook The applicant has to click on 'Member Passbook'. The member passbook will be displayed on the screen. Registration Procedure for e-Passbook

In order to register, an individual has to activate their UAN. This can be done through the EPF. Once it is validated, it is possible to download the e-passbook after three business days. The user has to login to the portal and has to click on the 'Download e-Passbook' option. The user has to enter the UAN Number and password to login to the portal.

Procedure to Check Balance

An individual can check balance in the EPFO Portal by the following steps.

Step 1: Log in to the Portal The applicant has to log in to the EPF Portal. Step 2: Click on Our Services The applicant has to click on the 'Our Services' option and then click on 'For Employees'. Step 4: Enter the Details The user has to enter details like username, password and clear the Captcha code. Once all these procedures are done, the user can view the balance.

Resetting Password

Here are the steps to reset the password.

Step 2: Enter the Credentials The user has to enter the UAN and Captcha code.

Step 3: Enter the OTP The user has to enter the OTP that is sent to the registered mobile number.

Step 4: Click Submit Once the OTP is entered, click 'Submit'.

Step 5: Reset Password The user can now reset the password and then log in to the Uan Portal.

Online Services

Claim

The Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) has established a new composite claim form to facilitate the full or partial withdrawal of PF. The claim section comprises three forms namely

Form 31, 19 and 10C. The purpose of claiming full/ partial withdrawal through Composite Claim Form, Aadhaar has to be linked to UAN.

Transfer

PF amount can be transferred from the previous account into the current account. The user has to make sure that

  • The KYC details are updated on the website are appropriate.
  • The previous or the current bank account details and the IFSC are seeded into the UAN database.
  • The KYC details are seeded against the UAN.
There is only one transfer request that can be claimed on the previous PF account.

Tracking EPF Claim Status

The status of an EPF claim can be tracked on the UAN Login Portal through 'Track Claim Status' section. There is no requirement to enter acknowledgement number of the PF account number.
