Haryana Widow and Destitute Women Pension Scheme
Social Justice Department of Government of Haryana has introduced the Widow and Destitute Women Pension Scheme in the year 2017. Under this social welfare scheme, the Government provides financial assistance in the form of monthly pension to the deserted, destitute and Vidhwa women in the state. In this article, we will look at the Widow and Destitute Women Pension Scheme application procedure in detail.
Rate of Allowance or Pension
Government of Haryana provides a monthly pension amount of Rs.1,800 for all eligible widow or destitute women.
Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility criteria to obtain monthly pension amount of widow pension scheme is described in detail here:
- Domicile of Haryana only can avail the benefits
- A woman residing in Haryana for the last one year at the time of submission of application can apply for this scheme
- Age of beneficiary should be above 18 years at the time of application
- Beneficiary’s income from all sources should be below Rs.2,00,000 per annum to apply for this scheme
If all the above mention conditions are met, further any one of the three conditions should be fulfilled by the woman:
- Widow
- A destitute woman without husband, parents and son
- Destitute woman due to desertion or physical or mental incapacity of the following:
- Husband in case of married women
- Parents in case of other women
Excluded Category
Woman receiving any other type of pension including a family pension from Government or Statutory Body or any other organization substantially financed by any Government will not be eligible to avail the benefits under this scheme.
If the woman is receiving provident funds (PF) or annuities from any source including Financial Institutions or Insurance or Commercial Banks are also not eligible for getting pension under this scheme.
Women employed by Government or by any Local, Statutory Body or any other organization substantially financed by the Government or Local or Statutory Body cannot apply for this scheme.
Documents Required
The documents necessary for applying the Widow and Destitute Women Pension Scheme is as follows.
- Application Form in Prescribed format
- Identity Proof – Aadhaar Card of the parents
- Age Proof Certificate – Birth Certificate or Mark sheet
- Address Proof – BPL Ration Card
- Income Certificate
- Domicile Certificate
- Death Certificate of Husband – For Widow
- Photograph of the parent
- Bank Account Details
Applying for Widow and Destitute Women Pension Scheme through SJD
For applying Widow and Destitute Women Pension Scheme follow the step by step guidelines given below:
Step 1: For applying the widow pension scheme, the applicant has to furnish an application form in the prescribed method. Provide below-mentioned details in the application form.
- Parents Name
- Name
- Father’s Name or Husband Name
- Date of Birth
- Address with Pin code
- The annual income of the family
- Mobile Number
- Details of Husband
The application form for applying the Widow and Destitute Women Pension Scheme is below for reference:
WP - ApplicationStep 2: The applicant has to affix a recent passport size photograph on the application.
Step 3: Approach the concerned Social Justice Department in the locality, submit the duly filled application form along with all required documents.
Step 4: Concerned SJD authority will verify the application form and other documents.
Once the concerned authority approves the application, the applicant will be provided with a beneficiary ID.
Note: The same ID will also send through the registered mobile number. Keep it safe for future reference.
All eligible beneficiaries will start to receive the allowance pension every month. The amount will be directly credited to the beneficiary’s bank account.
Applying for Widow Pension Scheme through Atal Seva Kendra
An eligible woman can apply for Widow and Destitute Women Pension Scheme through Atal Seva Kendra. Duly filled application along with supporting documents (refer above) need to be submitted at nearby Atal Seva Kendra. The ASK service centre person will forward the application to the concerned authority for verification.
Beneficiary ID will be sent to the registered mobile number. Status of application also sends to the registered mobile number. Once the application has been verified and approved by the respective authority, the Widow and Destitute Women Pension will be directly credited to beneficiaries’ account.

Step 1: Visit the official website social Justice Department of Haryana.
Step 2: The applicant has to select आधार/पैंशन आई.डी./खाता संख्या से पैंशन विवरण देखें (Track Beneficiary Pension Details) option from the menu. By clicking on this link, the page will redirect to the new page.
Step 3: Enter the beneficiary ID and security code in the space provided.
Step 4: After entering the ID and Code, click on the view details button. Widow and Destitute Women Pension details will appear.
Check Name in Beneficiary List
The registered person can check their name in Widow and Destitute Women Pension 2018 Beneficiaries List. The beneficiary can check their name in Beneficiaries List by following the procedure given here.
Step 1: Go to the homepage of Haryana Social Justice Department, click on लाभार्थियों की सूची देखें / View List of Beneficiaries option. The link will redirect to the new page.
Step 2: In this page, the beneficiary needs to provide below mentioned details.
- जिला / District
- क्षेत्र / Area
- खण्ड / नगरपालिका / Block / Municipality
- गाँव / वार्ड / सेक्टर / Village / Ward / Sector
- पैंशन का नाम / Pension Type – Select pension type as Ladli Social Security Scheme
- छांटने का क्रम / Sort Order
Step 3: After providing all details, click on लाभार्थी सूची देखें / View Beneficiary List option.
Pensioner Name, Beneficiary ID, Aadhaar Number, Pension Amount will be displayed on the screen. The beneficiary can find their name from this Widow pension Beneficiaries list.
