Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana

Government of Haryana has introduced Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana Scheme in the year 2018. The key objective of this scheme is to protect farmers and encourage them to resort to the diversification of crops. Under this scheme, the base price for crops is fixed by the State Government. This scheme ensures that the Haryana farmers get at least base price for selling their crops. In case farmers are selling crops for an amount below base price, the State Government will provide compensation under this scheme. In this article, we will look at Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana in detail.

Objectives of Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana

  • To reduce the risk of farmers during the low prices of vegetables and fruits, by the fixing preserved value for crops
  • To encourage the farmers for diversification in agriculture

Fixed Base Price

With this scheme, the Haryana State Government will fix the base price for all crops, which is grown in the state. 

Selected Crops

Following four crops has been chosen for Bhavantar Bharpayee scheme. Soon more crops will be included:

  • Potato
  • Onion
  • Tomato
  • Cauliflower

Compensation

In case if a farmer is forced to sell crops at a lower price than the base price, under BBY, the state government will provide compensation (Bharpai). Agriculture Department of Haryana will dispatch compensation payment within 15 days from the date of application.

Fixed Income

With the BBY, Haryana Government ensures that all farmers earn at least Rs.48,000 to Rs.56,000 income for every acre of land that is used for cultivation of the crops mentioned above.

Benefits 

All type of farmers will get benefits under BBY. Landlord, lessee or tenant on rent can apply for this Yojana.

Base Price

Under BBY, Government of Haryana has a fixed base price for vegetables. The cost is tabulated here:

Eligibility Criteria

All farmers including Landlord, lessee or tenant on rent can apply for Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana. Farmers should have a valid bank account.

Documents Required

Documents required for applying Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana is listed below:

  • Identity proof such as Aadhaar Card, Driving license, Passport or Voter ID
  • Passport size photograph
  • Bank passbook
  • Details of the seed crop
  • Khasra and fort number of the  farmers in the bizarre area acre

Time Period 

Under Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana, there is a specific time for registering each crop. Farmers should complete registration only during this settlement period to avail the benefits of BBY.

Procedure for BBY Registration

The step by step procedure to apply for Bhavantar Bharpayee Yojana is explained in detail here. Farmers can register by visiting nearest kiosks centres, E-Disha Centers, Common service Centers or the Horticultural Department Marketing Board.

Step 1: Visit e-Kharid portal of Horticulture Department Marketing Board

Step 2: Click on Farmer registration (Kisan Panjikaran) link in the homepage.

Step 3: After reading instruction, click on proceed for the registration link.

Step 4: The page will redirect to the next page, fill all details in the application form.

Step 5: Click on submit for registration, after successful registration farmer will get a user name and password.

Make Claims and Check Status 

Visit e-kharid login page. Enter the username, password and captcha shown. Once logged in to the portal, farmers can make claims and check the status of complaints.

J-Form – Sale Voucher

The farmers will have to ensure the sale of the crop during the scheduled sale period in the mandis of Haryana State Agricultural Marketing Board. Under the scheme, it would be mandatory for the farmers to take the “J” form upon selling the product to get the compensation. J form is provided below for reference:
