Toni & Guy Franchise

Hailed as one of the most reputed chain in the salon segment, Toni & Guy established its forte in the year of 1963 as a single unit in Clapham, London, triggering a growth story that has now spanned for almost five decades. Currently, the hairdressing company has more than 400 salons across 45 countries, as well as a manpower that numbers over 5000 in Great Britain, and roughly 7000 the world over. Over the years, the salon has emerged as a professional establishment exceeding the standards set for the industry. In this article, we look at the requirements and investment required for setting up a Toni & Guy franchise in India.

Founding Objective

The globally acclaimed hair-dressing salon is driven by the philosophy of pushing the boundaries of hairdressing and delivering creativity, quality, and consistency to every client.

Why Toni & Guy?

  • Adjudged as the most prominent of hairdressing companies in the world.
  • Has won over 100’s of accolades for proving its caliber in providing efficient services.
  • The only hairdressing entity to have received the official status as ‘cool brand’ and ‘super brand,’ which is only accorded to select brands.
  • The only hairdressing salon with a built-in TV station, viewed by over 90,000 clients in a week.
  • The company trains its personnel in accordance with the industry standards for over three years before entrusting them with their roles.

Required Investments

The venture can be established by investing a sum of INR 50 lakhs-1 crore. In addition to it, the applicant must remit a franchise fee of Rs. 6 lakhs (refundable after five years), along with a monthly royalty of 10%.

Mission South India

The company has welcomed entrepreneurial endeavors across the country, but their focus on the southern zone of this country deserves a mention. The establishment is seeking to set-up about 150 saloons in the region over the subsequent three years, against the current tally of 51. Among this, only 25% will be formed as COCO (company-owned, company-operated) outlets, while aspiring entrepreneurs can stake their claim on the rest.

Infrastructure Requirements

The salon franchise can be set up in malls or high streets, given the number of footfalls in these locales. The floor area of the premise must be between a square feet of 1500-2000.

Enrollment

The interested applicants merely need to enter a few details in the salons’ website, post which the representatives will initiate further proceedings by contacting the applicants in accordance to the agreed schedule.

Trained to Perfection

No employees of Toni & Guy would easily be given a passport into their endeavors. The recruited employees will be trained for at-least three years, so as to enable them to meet the standards expected in the establishment. The franchisees will be provided with a detailed operating manual for conducting its operations, and will receive the essential field assistance. The Head Office will closely work with the franchisees to assist them in its formation.

Terms of Agreement

As is the case with every franchise and the principal company, Toni & Guy requires the interested party to enter into an agreement that keeps them associated with each other for five years. The contract has an option for renewal.

Essensuals – a sister concern

A part of the Tony & Guy group, Essensuals was founded by Chief Executive Toni Mascalo and his children. Essensuals has learnt its lessons from the sister company’s experience and its supreme educational systems. It offers its clients a holistic approach to hairdressing by blending cut and colour to create the perfect look.
