The Government of Puducherry has initiated a housing scheme to provide an individual house for people belonging to the economically backward class and deprived of necessary housing facilities in the state. Under this scheme, the Puducherry Department of Housing Board is responsible for distributing flats to the beneficiaries. In this article, we look at the Puducherry housing scheme in detail.

Scheme Details
The Puducherry government announced this scheme for the poor people in the union territory. It is one of the largest housing budget scheme in the state of Puducherry. The department of housing board provides the financial assistance to the scheme beneficiaries.
Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria for applying housing scheme are listed below.
- The applicant should be a permanent resident of Puducherry.
- People who are living under Below Poverty Line (BPL) is eligible to apply for this scheme.
Documents Required
The required documents are to be produced while applying for the scheme:
- Income certificate.
- Residential certificate.
- Ration card.
- Aadhar card.
Application Procedure
As the scheme has been launched recently by the state government of Puducherry, the government is yet to launch the application process. If the applications are rolled out, then the eligible applicant will be able to get the application form from the authorised website of Puducherry government.
