Mukhya Mantri Knayadan Yojana
The Government of Himachal Pradesh under which the Department of Women and Child has launched Mukhya Mantri Knayadan Yojana scheme for orphan girls having no regular source of income. In this article, we look at the process for availing benefit under the Mukhya Mantri Knayadan Yojana scheme in detail.
Benefits of the Scheme
The main objective of MMKY is to provide financial assistance to the girls of poor families who may not afford the cost of the marriage of their daughter. Under this scheme, a financial help of Rs.40,000 is provided to such girls.
Eligibility
- Girls who are orphans or whose father is physically/mentally incapacitated or bedridden can apply to the scheme.
- Girls must be above 18 years of age.
- Girls should have the bonafide resident of Himachal Pradesh.
- Annual income should not exceed more than Rs.35,000/-
- Date of marriage
- Name and address of the person whom the girl is being married.
Rate of Grant
The grant of Rs. 40,000/- shall be admissible to the parents/guardians of the destitute girls/women for their marriage. In case of the inmates of Nari Sewa Sadan/Nari Niketan, the grant of Rs. 51,000/- shall be admissible to the girls/women for their marriage.

Application Procedure
The Applications must be filled as per in the Annexure “A” format by the guardians /parents of the destitute women to the concerned CDPO/Distt, Programme Office/Deputy Commissioner of the District or the Director.

The form will be displayed as below:
- The application form must be filled by the applicant carefully and submit at same office with all the required documents.
- In charge State Home concerned will verify the antecedents and income of the parents of the destitute women/girls.
