Possession certificate is one of the most important property or land-related documents to be held by every property owner. The document normally undergoes verification before signing a sale deed or title deed. Also, possession certificate ensures to include the property in the Revenue Records to obtain a loan. In this article, we look at the procedure for obtaining possession certificate in Karnataka in detail.
Documents Required
To obtain possession furnish the following documents along with the application form:
- Copy of registered lease cum sale deed agreement.
- Identity and signature proof of the applicant.
- Copy of encumbrance certificate (form 15).
Online Application Procedure
To apply for the Possession Certificate online, the user must follow the below-given procedures:
Step 1: The user must visit the official website of Karnataka Saka Services system.
Step 2: Click on the “Sometimes Online Services” on the home page.
Step 3: Then click on the “Bangalore Development Authority (BDA)” option that will direct you to the Sakala Online Services page.
Step 4: Now click the “Apply Online” option to apply for the Possession Certificate.
Step 5: Then fill all the required details in the form and click on the ‘submit’ button.
Step 6: Now, upload all the mandatory documents.
Step 7: After selecting the ‘submit’ option, the current page redirects to an acknowledgement page.
Step 8: Finally, you can click on the ‘print’ button to get a copy of your application from BDA.
Offline Procedure
To obtain a Possession Certificate, the applicant has to submit the application in a prescribed format along with the documents to the designated official in the office of the concerned Deputy Secretary. No fees will be charged from the applicant to get the service. The processing time of application will be seven working days from the date of the application submission. Once the verification of application is done, the applicant will get a notification to collect the possession certificate from the concerned personnel. Finally, the applicant needs to sign in a register confirming receipt of the certificate.
