The rate of stamp duty varies from state to state and would depend on the type of transaction being undertaken like sale, lease, gift, mortgage, etc., Further, stamp duty rates can also vary based on whether the registrant of document is a male, female or legal corporate entity like company or LLP. Property Registration – Conveyance (Sale Deed Registration)
Stamp Duty: 7% of the market value of the property.
Registration Fee: 1% of the market value of the property.
Gift Deed Registration
Stamp Duty: 7% of the market value of the property.
Registration Fee: 1% of the market value of the property.
Exchange Deed Registration
Stamp Duty: 7% of the market value of the property having higher value.
Registration Fee: 1% of the market value of the property.
Simple Mortgage Registration
Stamp Duty: 1% of the loan amount, subject to a maximum of Rs.40,000.
Registration Fee: 1% of the loan amount, subject to a maximum of Rs.10,000.
Mortgage with Possession
Stamp Duty: 4% of the loan amount, subject to a maximum of Rs.40,000.
Registration Fee: 1% of the loan amount, subject to a maximum of Rs.2,00,000.
Agreement to Sale
Stamp Duty: 4% of the loan amount, subject to a maximum of Rs.40,000.
Registration Fee: 1% of the loan amount, subject to a maximum of Rs.2,00,000.
Cancellation
Stamp Duty: Rs. 50
Registration Fee: Rs. 50
Partition Deed – Amongst Family Members
Stamp Duty: 1% on the market value of the property but not exceeding Rs.10000/- for each share.
Registration Fee: 1% subject to a maximum of Rs.2000/- for each share.
Partition Deed – Amongst Non-Family Members
Stamp Duty: 4% on the market value of the property for separated shares.
Registration Fee: 1% on the market value of the property for separated shares.
General Power of Attorney to Sell Immovable Property

Partnership Deed – Less than Rs.500 Capital

Deposit of Title Deed
Stamp Duty: 0.5% on loan amount, subject to a maximum of Rs.25000/-
Registration Fee: 1% on loan amount subject to a maximum of Rs 5000/-
Release Deed – Amongst Family Members
Stamp Duty: 1% on the market value of the property but not exceeding Rs.10000/-
Registration Fee: 1% on the market value of the property subject to a maximum of Rs.2000/-
Release Deed – Amongst Non-Family Members
Stamp Duty: 8% on the market value of the property

Lease Deed – Below 30 Years
Stamp Duty: 1% of the total amount of rent, premium, fine, etc.,
Registration Fee: 1% subject to a maximum of Rs.20000/-
Lease Deed – Up to 99 Years & Above 30 Years
Stamp Duty: 4% of the total amount of rent, premium, fine, etc.,
Registration Fee: 1% subject to a maximum of Rs.20000/-
Lease Deed – More than 99 Years
Stamp Duty: 8% of the total amount of rent, premium, fine, etc.,
Registration Fee: 1% subject to a maximum of Rs.20000/-
Trust Registration
Stamp Duty: Rs.180
Registration Fee: 1% of the amount
