SMS Facility

The status of the application could be tracked by merely sending an SMS. An individual must send an SMS that contains the words "NSDLPAN", followed by the provided 15 digit process acceptance number to 57575. Immediately, the applicant would receive an SMS communicating the applicant's current application status.

Telephone Call

In this mode, the applicant could call the TIN call centre to get an update on the present application status. the number for the call centre is 020-27218080.

Online Tracking

Another option that helps the applicant track the status is the official website of Tax Identification Number (TIN)-National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) or UTI Technology Services Limited (UTITSL). An applicant can track their PAN application status 3 days post the submission of the application, though it is recommended that it is pursued a little later, so as to generate precise results.

Online PAN Status Tracking

Tracking the status of a PAN application online is one of the fastest modes of tracking. The applicant is expected to follow a few steps to stay up to date of any modifications to the application status.
In order to track the PAN status online, one can log on to the official website for PAN, TIN-NSDL -> Move to the PAN section-> A new page would be opened for viewing their tracking purpose.
An applicant must choose the application type if it is New PAN or updated information and then provide few details including the 15 digit acceptance number, Applicant's full name and date of birth. On providing the necessary information, the current page would be redirected to a new page which shows the present status of the application.
However, PAN application could be tracked online post 24 hours of application submission. Irrespective of the website used, one must possess an application number and enter that on the application form.

How to track PAN Application - UTI portal

UTI is a Government based institution that gives technology and outsourcing services to the Financial and Government sectors of India. In order to track the PAN card application status via the UTI portal, the below steps must be followed. Log on to the UTIITSL’s PAN Online Portal. -> Visit Official UTI Pan Card Page -> Select “Track PAN Card Application Status” -> Select “Click here to check status online”->Enter your Application coupon number -> Submit to find out your application status.

How to track PAN Application - NSDL portal

National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) is India's central securities depository. It was the first electronic securities depository in India with national coverage. It was instituted based on a suggestion by a national institution responsible for the economic development of India. To track the status of the PAN Card application, you can click on “Track your PAN/TAN Application Status” under PAN cards. -> log on to Official NSDL Pan Card Page -> Select your application type -> Enter your acknowledgement number -> Enter the applicant's name and date of birth -> Submit to view the status.

PAN Transaction Status

Payment for PAN application is done either through internet banking, credit/debit card or via demand drafts. The transaction status could be checked for online transactors. The steps to follow this are mentioned below: Applicants must log on to the official website of TIN-NSDL -> navigate to the “Transaction Status” page, This page shows a view of the current update on their PAN application. An applicant must enter the Transaction Number obtained while making the payment, applicant name and the date of birth in order to check the status of their application.
