In Delhi, all residents of the state should hold ration card which is issued by the Department of Food, Supplies and Consumer Affairs, GNCT. Delhi ration card is a multi-purpose legal document it enables the holder to procure all subsidies provided by the Delhi Government. The objective of the issue of new ration card is to eliminate the duplicate ration cards and cover all eligible beneficiaries in the state of Delhi. In this article, we look at the procedure for obtaining the Delhi ration card in detail.

What’s a Ration Card?

Ration card is considered to be an essential legal document in India that is used for identity and address verification. Ration card also often used as an identification proof while applying for domicile certificate, income certificate, drivers license, PAN card, etc.

Which are the Different Types of Ration Cards Issued in India?

Delhi Government issues different types of Ration Card for the people in the state. The total population of Delhi has been classified into the following categories for proper supply and distribution of SFA's and Kerosene oil.
  • Above Poverty Line (APL):- The Government will issue APL Cards (White Colour) to the families having total income above Rs 1,00,000 per annum.
  • Below Poverty Line (BPL):- Families having a total family income below Rs 24,200 per annum have been identified under this category.
  • Antyodya Anna Yojana (AAY):- Household with a disabled adult and no assured means of subsistence, landless labourers, marginal farmers, artisans, craft men, widows, terminally ill persons etc. are covered under this scheme.
  • Annapurna Yojana (AY):- Under this scheme, a destitute person with more than 65 years of age having no source of income and not availing the benefit of national Old Age Pension or State Pension Scheme can avail 10 Kg of food grains free of cost every month.

What is the Eligibility Criteria to apply for Ration Card in Delhi?

Every family residing under the state of Delhi is eligible for obtaining ration card. The type of card determines the benefits gained. The households are having an annual income of less than Rs.1 lakh will be considered as eligible households for the inclusion in NFS. The eldest woman will be made Head of the family in the National Food Security Card.

What are the Documents Required to make a Ration Card in Delhi?

Attach the following documents along with the application form:
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Voter Identity card
  • Income certificate
  • Passport size photograph of family members.

Delhi Citizens can submit the application forms relating to ration card services and National Food Security at the nearest circle offices of Department of Food and Supplies.

Online Ration Card Application Process in Delhi

By following the steps given below, the citizen can apply for a new ration card in Delhi. Step 1: The applicant has to visit the official website of the Department of Food, Supplies and Consumer Affairs, GNCT of Delhi Government. Complete Offline Application procedure to make a Ration Card in Delhi

Follow the below-given step by step procedure to obtain New Ration card in Delhi state. Step 1: To get a new Delhi Ration Card, visit any nearest circle office in your area. Step 2: Get an application form for applying for a new ration card from the office. The application form is below for the reference: Note: The applicant also can download the application form from the official website. Step 3: Fill out an application form in a prescribed format and provide all the mandatory details in the application form. Step 4: After filling out the form, apply along with all required documents. Step 5: After verifying the application form and all other documents, the Clerk will issue an acknowledgement receipt.

Track Application Status

All applicants who successfully apply for Ration Card in Delhi can track the application status of their ration card. After this, fill out one of the four options. After submitting the necessary details, the applicant can view the status of the application. Download E-Ration Card

On approval of the application submitted, can download their e-ration card by following the steps given below: Step 1: Go to the official website. [caption id="attachment_56136" align="aligncenter" width="903"]Download-Delhi-Ration-Card Download-Delhi-Ration-Card Step 2: After that, fill in all the details like ration card number, home head's name, etc. Step 3: The applicant will receive OTP to the mobile number. Enter the OTP and the base number. Step 4: e-Ration Card will be downloaded in PDF format. You can take a print of it.
