
Online EPF account transfer
The Employees’ Provident Fund (i.e., EPF) can be transferred from the earlier employer to the present employer via both the offline and online modes. The Member e-SEWA portal enables the EPF account holder to transfer the money via online mode. The present article covers the pre-requisites one needs to fulfill before transferring the EPF account via online mode, step to be followed for transferring online EPF account, and steps for tracking the online transfer status.Pre-requisites for transferring EPF account via online mode
The list of pre-requisites for online transfer of EPF account is detailed hereunder-- An active Universal Account Number (UAN) on the member e-SEWA portal.
- Verification and correction (if required) of the following information on the member e-SEWA portal-
- Personal information like-
- Name,
- Contact number,
- Personal information like-
- Marital status, etc.
- Bank account details like-
- Bank account number,
- IFSC, etc.
- Aadhaar details.
- The bank account details and Aadhaar details should be digitally verified and approved by UIDAI and the employer.
- It is mandatory to complete the e-KYC process. Steps to complete the e-KYC process are-
- It is compulsory to provide Aadhaar since the linking of Aadhaar is mandatory.
- It is also compulsory to provide PAN if the number of service years is less than 5 years at the time of withdrawing the amount.
- The Digital Signature Certificate (DSC) of at least one of the employers should be registered on the portal.
- EPF account number of both the present and previous employment of the employer should be entered into the database.
Steps for transferring EPF account via online mode
In order to transfer EPF account online, one needs to follow the below steps- STEP 1 – Visit site /memberinterface/ STEP 2 – Provide appropriate UAN number and Password. STEP 3 – Navigate the path Online Services > One Member – One EPF account (Transfer Request). STEP 4 – Personal information page will appear. Verify the personal information and PF Account details for the present employer. STEP 5 – Click on ‘Get details’ to view the PF account details of previous employment. STEP 6 – Select the EPF account from where the amount has to be transferred to the present EPF account. STEP 7 – For Attestation, select either ‘Previous Employer’ or ‘Present Employer’. STEP 8 – Click ‘Get OTP’. Here, OTP will be sent to the UAN registered mobile number. STEP 9 – Enter the OTP and click submit. A tracking ID will be generated on the successful submission of the EPF transfer form.Steps for tracking the status of online transfer of EPF account
The status of online application for transfer of EPF account can be done by following the below steps- STEP 1 – Visit site /memberinterface/ STEP 2 – Provide appropriate UAN number and Password.
