E-Pashu Haat
E-Pashu Haat is a web portal launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare under the scheme “National Mission on Bovine Productivity.” Livestock resources and their productivity play an imperative role in India’s rural economy. India has the largest bovine population and dairying activities act as a subsidiary source of income for farmers who rear livestock in addition to farming.
E-Pashu Haat is an extensive portal, which provides information on pet cattle, trading of bovine animals that were not offered on any other platform in the country.
Objectives of E-Pashu Haat Portal:
- To facilitate E-Trading Market portal for livestock germplasm and additional related services.
- To enable farmers to connect directly with breeders – Central, State, Co-operative and private agencies.
- Minimize malpractices in animal trading by rendering authentic certified information on the availability of germplasm
- To act as a centralized information repository for Central and State Governments.
E-Pashu Haat Web Portal:
The Home page of the portal comprises of various infomation related to the livestock.
Steps to use the Portal:
Step 1: The user (buyer/seller) should visit the portal using the official website https://epashuhaat.gov.in/?index.php .
Step 2: Select the option from the drop-down list of germplasm marketplace tab in the Home page. The options include Livestock, Frozen Semen, Embryos, and Milk Products (yet to launch). Each option provides the users with details like address, contact numbers, etc., of individual Institutes / Agriculture universities in States.
Also, it offers information regarding Certification of the animal, its image, breeding, volume of milk yielded by the cow.
Step 3: The given details can be compared using filters and can opt for purchase. The user does not require a login to view and check the details. However, it is necessary to register for any transactions to occur.
For New Registration, Click login in the home page of the portal, then select New Registration option. Under the relevant option to the user, information such as aadhar details, personal details, and location details must be furnished which will be verified using an OTP.
In case of a registered user, the buyer/seller should login in their repective gateways.
Step 4: Once the required item is selected, the buyer should fill the specified details and payment shall be done online for purchase by selecting the appropriate mode of payment. The ordered item is then delivered.
