Step #1 Evaluate Your Business's Qualification(s)Determine which type of licence is required for your business based on its annual turnover, size, and how it operates in the food industry.
Step #2 Acquire All Required Documentation When applying for an FSSAI registration, your business should have at least some or all of the following types of documentation available: Proof that the business currently has a valid commercial lease or utility bill with the name(s) of the business owner-proprietor. Identification and proof of residence for the business owner(s) and/or proprietors. A current Food Safety Management System-FSMS-plan that meets FSSAI standards. Information about the business including the names of any/all owners who will be running the business.
Step #3 Complete the Application Once you are registered on the FSSAI Portal and certified as using an appropriate business category (Basic, State or Central) after you have finished filling out the online form.
Step #4 Submit Application Once you have completed your Application form on the FSSAI website, please ensure that you submit the application electronically from your computer, verifying that the application is complete to avoid delays in obtaining your licence and/or registration certification.
Step #5 Inspection and Licensing Approval Prior to granting an FSSAI registration or a licence, an inspection will be conducted at your business location to confirm compliance with FSSAI standards and requirements.
