Jharkhand Ration Card

Jharkhand ration card is as an official document that grants food grains and fuel at a subsidized rate from the Jharkhand State Government. Ration card also often used as an identification proof while applying for domicile certificate, income certificate, drivers license, PAN, etc.  The ration card will be distributed by the food and civil supplies department in Jharkhand to the citizens of the state. In this article, view the procedure for obtaining Jharkhand ration card.

Ration Card Categories

Depending upon on the economic status of the applicant Jharkhand government issues types of ration card.

Below the Poverty Line (BPL) Cards –  BPL Cards are issued to low-income families living in rural areas and urban areas.

Above Poverty Line Cards– Above the poverty line (APL) cards issued to above poverty line families.

Antyodaya Anna Ration Cards – AAY ration card was issued to the families whose annual income is below Rs.15000 is liable to get food grains at a cheaper cost.

Annapurna Yojana (AY) Ration CardsAnnapurna Yojana (AY) Ration Card is a particular type of ration card issued only to the poor people above 65 years.

Commodities Covered

The commodities which are provided to the citizens of the state at a subsidized rate are below:

Eligibility Criteria

Persons having no ration card: In this case, an individual should produce a certificate from the Panchayat Pradhan/ Nigam Parshad Halka Kramchari (Revenue Kramchari) / Panchayat Sewak / Tax Collector the concerned authority mentioning in the document that the person has no ration card.

Duplicate ration card: In case of loss of card, becomes defaced, for no fault the ration cardholder then the concerned authority can issue a duplicated ration card.

Persons having ration cards at the previous place: In case of transfer from one place to another. In this case, the Surrender Certificate requires from the District and Block Level Supply officer of the respective place where the person was residing previously.

In case of marriage, if the entry is to be made in the ration card: In this instance also, Surrender certificate is required from the previous place of residence, issued by the District and Block level Supply officer.

In case of the birth of a child: For the inclusion of name in the ration card, the birth certificate of the child is required, along with the ration card in which the addition has to be made, and the application addressed to the District and Block level Supply officer.

Concerned Authority

The Panchayat Pradhan/ Nigam Parsad / Halka Kramchari / Panchayat Sewak / Tax Collector will issue the ration card to the applicant. Block Supply officer in rural areas, Assistance District supply officer / Marketing officer in Urban areas and Rationing officer/ Marketing officer in Rationing areas.

Documents Required

Furnish the following documents while applying for the ration card:

  • Application form
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Voter Identity card
  • Income certificate
  • Electricity bill, Water bill.
  • Bank passbook details.
  • Passport size photograph of family members.

Ration Card Application Procedure

To apply for ration card in the state of Jharkhand, follow the steps mentioned below:

Step 1: The applicant must visit the official website of Jharkhand government.

Step 2: Click on “Online service” which is on the homepage of the portal.

Step 3: Now, the applicant has to select “Online application” from the list of services.

Step 4: On the next page, the following instructions will be displayed by the user to go through the instructions and click on the “Proceed”  button.

Step 5: By clicking proceed, the applicant needs to select the option “Application for new ration card” from the drop-down list and click the submit button.

Step 6: In the next page, enter your mobile number to get SMS to your mobile number.

Step 7: Then the applicant has to fill the application form for new ration card.

Step 8: Attach the required documents along with the application form and then click the “Ok” button.

Step 9: Upon submission, the applicant will receive an acknowledgement number as a confirmation, the acknowledgement number has to be noted for further reference.

Step 10: Then, the application will go to the Block supply officer.

Step 11: The applicant has to print the application form and documents and submit them to the Block Supply Officer and get the receipt from the office.

Note: The applicant can check the status of the application by entering the acknowledgement number.

Track Application Status

Follow the below-specified steps to check the status of an application online.

Step 1: Visit the official website of Food and civil supplies of Jharkhand government.

Step 2: Click on “Cardholder” option from the menu on the homepage.

Step 3: Select “Ration card details” from the list.

Step 4: In the next screen, enter the relevant details like district, block, village, card type, and click on the “Submit” button.

Note: On approving the application, the applicant can collect the ration card in 15 days from the date of application.
