A death certificate is a record of an individual by the State Government declaring a person’s demise officially. The certificate is issued to the nearest relatives of the deceased person that states the date, fact and cause of death. By obtaining a death certificate, a family can avail certain benefits that are provided to the deceased person’s family members like insurance or widow pension. In this article, we look at the procedure for obtaining the death certificate in Andhra Pradesh. According to the State’s Birth and Death Registration Act, 1969, every death taking place in Andhra Pradesh has to be registered within 21 days.Purpose of Death Certificate
