The state Government of Karnataka has launched Sandhya Surksha scheme to provide financial assistance for senior citizen of the state. The Sandhya Surksha Pension Scheme provides eligible senior citizens with monthly pensions. Features of Sandhya Surksha Pension Scheme
Under the Sandhya Surksha Pension Scheme, the Government will provide medical facilities to the beneficiaries through NGOs. Eligible beneficiaries will receive a monthly pension of Rs.400 from the State government. Persons who use KSRTC for travelling can also get concessional bus transportation. Finally, Day care centers are also available for the senior citizen to support them under the scheme.
Eligibility criteria for the pension scheme
The applicant applying under this scheme should meet the following eligibility criteria.
- The applicant’s age must be 65 years and above.
- The applicant must be a permanent resident of Karnataka.
- The income of the applicant should be less than Rs.20,000 per month.
- Bank deposits should not be more than Rs.10,000.
- This pension scheme is mainly for weavers, farmers, fishermen and other unorganized sectors.
Required documents
The following documents are to be produced at the time of registering the scheme:
- Income certificate of the applicant.
- Birth certificate or identity proof with date of birth.
- Bank passbook and savings or deposit details.
- Occupational certification to be signed by the tThsildar of the respective taluk.
Registration Process for the Scheme
Download the application form for Sandhya Surksha Pension Scheme from the official website of karnataka.gov.in. Complete the application form with all details. Attach acknowledgement form, occupation certificate, and other proof certificates. Submit the form with the required document at gram panchayat office or Block, municipality office as per your area.
