Guwahati Trade License
A trade license is a certificate or document that gives a person the authority to operate a business within a specific municipal limit. The issuance of a trade license is mandated by the State government to ensure the regulation and monitoring of various business activities in a city. In this article, we explore the procedure for obtaining a Guwahati trade license.
Issuance of Trade License
Trade licenses are granted by the respective municipalities or the licensing department of the area where the business is located. These authorities issue licenses after consulting other departments such as Industries, Health, Engineering, and Estate. Having a valid trade license is essential for operating legally and without hindrance.
Purpose of Obtaining a Trade License
The government requires businesses to obtain a trade license to ensure compliance with ethical practices, safety measures, and relevant guidelines. Holding a trade license can protect business owners against certain liabilities. In the event of any incident resulting in damage or injury, owners' personal finances remain safeguarded from settlements because the business operates under a separate legal entity. Understanding different types of business structures can help in deciding the type of trade license needed.
