Akanksha Housing Scheme

The State Government of West Bengal has launched the Akanksha Housing Scheme to provide concessional housing to the state government employee. The Akanksha housing scheme provides land free of cost for the purpose of construction of flats to the government employees. In this article, we look for the procedure for applying under Akanksha Housing Scheme in detail.

Eligibility Criteria

All serving state government employees in West Bengal who do not have their own housing under the West Bengal housing department can apply under Akanksha Housing Scheme.

Documents Required

The following documents are required to be produced at the time of applying for the scheme:

  • Voter Identity Card of the applicant.
  • Demand draft.
  • Aadhar card.
  • Proof of residence.

Flats Eligibility

The following categories of flats, eligible grade-pay, rate  are listed out under this scheme

Standard Rs.2900 464 Sq. Ft (1BHK) Rs. 2200/-per Sq. ft

Payment Schedule 

The applicant has to make payment on instalment by following the chart listed below

Installment No. Amount payable Time of payment
Application money Rs.25,000. At the time of submitting the application.  
Allotment Money 40% of tentative total price including application money. Within 45 days of the allotment order.
1st Installment 20% of the tentative total price. Within 30 days of completion of 6th floor slab.
2st Installment 30% of the tentative total price. Within 30 days of completion of 9th floor slab.
3rd Installment 10% of the tentative total price. Within 30 days of completion of entire building.
4th Installment Residual amount of final price. Before taking possession.

Payment Schedule for Economy and Standard Flats

The applicant has to make payment on instalment by following the chart listed below:
