The application for design registration in New delhi should be filed in Form 1 along with these details:

• Name of the applicant
• Address of the applicant
• Nationality of the applicant
• In case the applicant is not a natural person i.e, a company then the information regarding the legal status of the company must be included.
• The name of the article to which the design is applied should be included.
• Registration of design, if the design is two-dimensional two copies must be submitted. The applicant must highlight the unique feature of the design.
• If the application is mentioning registration of the design in more than one class then each class of the registration must be made in a separate application.
• A disclaimer or the statement of novelty is also to be attached to represent the concerned mechanical processes, trademark number, letters.
• The applicant or the authorized person is required to endorse and sign each representation duly
• After the submission of the application, the patent office will examine the application and objections that are raised if there are any.
• Once the objections are removed, the design is granted a copyright certificate by the patent office.

The design registration in Maharashtra is however valid for 10 years from the date of registration.
