GST Registration in India: A Complete Guide
Goods and Services Tax (GST) is a unified indirect tax system introduced in India to replace multiple state and central taxes. Any business or individual involved in the supply of goods or services must register under GST if they meet the prescribed criteria. GST registration not only ensures legal compliance but also enables seamless tax credit flow and enhances business credibility.
What is GST Registration?
GST registration is the process through which a taxpayer gets registered under the GST law and is assigned a unique Goods and Services Tax Identification Number (GSTIN). This GSTIN is mandatory for collecting GST from customers and claiming input tax credit.

- Casual taxable persons and non-resident taxable persons.
- Businesses liable to pay tax under the Reverse Charge Mechanism (RCM).
- Agents supplying goods or services on behalf of others.
Types of GST Registration
- Normal Taxpayer: For regular businesses operating in India.
