EVC Verification – Income Tax Filing

As per the Income Tax regulations, it is mandatory for taxpayers to file their income tax returns for the transactions performed in a financial year if the taxable income exceeds the basic exemption limit. Filing of income tax return must be completed by verifying the return through EVC verification mode within a period of 120 days from the date of filing tax return. The Income tax Department has initiated the facility of e-verification to assist the taxpayers to verify their returns immediately. This method of EVC generation and verification of ITR can only be used by the taxpayers whose income is less than Rs. 5,00,000. Moreover, the taxpayer should not be entitled for any refunds.
