E-Grantz – Kerala Fisheries Department
E-Grantz is an online platform that ensures prompt disbursal of educational assistance to all fishermen’s children. This platform provides a medium through which online application could be made, processed, and sanctioned for educational assistance. In this article, we look at how E-Grantz is processed and disbursed.

E-Grantz Eligibility
- Students pursuing courses authenticated by the university or board
- Students admitted under merit and reservation quota
- Students who belong to the categories of Scheduled castes, other eligible communities, OBCs and other communities who are socially and economically backward including forward castes
- Students whose attendance is not below 75% at the end of each month
E-Grantz Stipend Rates
The stipend rates depend on various categories the student belongs, let’s look at different stipend rates:
For Scheduled castes and OEC’s
- Below 8kms from residence would be Rs.500
- Above 8 km would be RS 600
- Students undergoing professional courses and reside on their own due to lack of hostel facility would be charged Rs.1500
For OBC’s
This is applicable for students who are undergoing +2 course, and they would be charged Rs.160
Students undergoing PG and Professional courses would be charged as follows:
- Day scholars. Rs.200
- Hostellers Rs.250
Students who are undergoing a polytechnic course would be charged as follows:
- Day scholars Rs.100
- Hostellers Rs.150
Documentation
The following documents are required for processing the fisheries e-Grantz of Kerala:
- Caste Certificate
- Income Certificate
- Marks List of the qualifying examination

Submission of E-Grantz Application
Applications for e-grantz must be submitted via the official Website e-grantz.kerala.gov.in. The students could also submit the applications online via Akshaya e-centers located anywhere in the state. The services in the Akshaya centers are free of cost. Students must submit their application along with certificates within a week of admission. Students who presently undergo a succeeding year of a course need not submit applications.
Checking Application Status
The applicant must take the following steps to check the status of an application:
Step: 1 – Access the homepage of E-Grantz
The applicant must visit the Website and click on the tab Application Status, which is available on the home page near stipend status.
Step: 2 – District
The applicant must select his or her District.
Step: 3 – Institution
The applicant must select his or her institution.
Step: 4 – Exam Type
The applicant must select the type of his or her examination.
Step: 5 – Reference Number
The applicant must select the identification reference number to denote his participation in the selected exam type.
Step: 6 – Exam Pass Year
The applicant must select the year in which he or she appeared for the said examination.
Step: 7 – DOB
The applicant must select his or her date of birth in the DD/MM/YYYY format.
Step: 8 – Search
The applicant must click on the Search button to check the status of the application.
Steps to Check the Stipend Status
The applicant could track the status of his stipend via the following process:
Step: 1 – Visit Homepage
The applicant must visit the homepage and click on the tab Stipend Status, which is available on the home page near Application status.
Step: 2 – Stipend Tab
Once the official Website of e-Grantz Kerala is opened, and the stipend status is clicked, the applicant could click on the Stipend Status tab.
Step: 3 – District
The applicant must select his or her District.
Step: 4 – Institution
The applicant must select his or her institution.
Step: 5 – Exam Type
The applicant must select the type of his or her examination.
Step: 6 – Reference Number
The applicant must select the identification reference number to denote his participation in the selected exam type.

The applicant must select the year in which he or she appeared for the said examination.
